  7. March 17, 1936: A mass demonstration of Polish Jews, left-wingers, and liberals protests antisemitism in Poland.

  8. March 9, 1936: Jews are killed and injured during an antisemitic pogrom at Przytyk, Poland.

  9. March 8-13, 1943: Jews are part of a Red Army force that mounts a massive offensive against the Germans at Sokolov, Russia.

  14. March 3, 1936: Henceforth, Jewish doctors are denied the right to practice medicine at German government hospitals.

  15. March 1-2, 1942: Thousands of Belorussian Jews are transported to Koidanav, Belorussia, where they are murdered.

  16. March 1943: Thousands of Jews are shot at Minsk, Belorussia; 50 escape and join the "Revenge" partisan group.

  17. February 21, 1940: Nazis in Warsaw, Poland, throw a Jewish woman from a moving streetcar.

  18. February 20, 1943: Crematorium II is completed at Auschwitz-Birkenau. It can burn 1440 bodies per day.

  19. Feb 19,1942:Jews at Dvinsk con. camp are forced to witness the execution of a Jewish woman who exchanged cloth with a non-Jewish inmate

  20. Feb 18, 1945: 500 Jews married to Christians are seized throughout Germany and deported to the Theresienstadt, Czechoslovakia, camp/ghetto.

  21. February 17, 1945: Seven Jews, including a small orphan girl, are murdered by a Pole in Sokoly, Poland.

  22. February 16, 1943: Theodor Eicke, inspector of concentration camps, dies in a plane crash.

  23. Feb 15, 1941: Germans begin deportations of 1000 Viennese Jewish men per week to a ghetto at Kielce as well as a camp at Lublin

  24. Feb 10, 1944: 800, including all of the children, are immediately gassed after arriving in Auschwitz.

  25. February 9, 1939: Anti-Jewish legislation is passed in Italy.

  26. February 8, 1940: A Jewish ghetto is established at Lódz, Poland.

  27. February 7, 1940: Jews in Warsaw, Poland, are prohibited from visiting the city's public libraries.

  28. Feb 6, 1943: Himmler receives a report about the # of items taken from Jews at Auschwitz and other camps in the Lublin area.

  29. February 2, 1933: Political demonstrations are banned within Germany.

  30. January 31, 1941: 3000 Jewish deportees, mostly from the Polish town of Pruszków, arrive at the Warsaw Ghetto.

  31. January 30, 1934: Hitler publicly insists that Germany will not be deterred from its program of rearmament.

  32. January 29, 1944: A Nazi court in Kraków, Poland sentences 5 Poles to death for aiding Jews.

  33. January 28, 1933: German Chancellor Kurt von Schleicher resigns.

  34. January 27, 1945: Memel, Lithuania, is liberated by Soviet troops.

  35. January 26, 1934: Germany and Poland sign a ten-year nonaggression pact.

  36. January 18-25, 1940: 255 Polish Jews arrested at random in Warsaw are taken to the Palmiry Forest outside the city and shot.

  37. January 5, 1939: Germany declares Karaite Jews exempt from enforcement of the Nuremberg Laws.

  38. Jan 4, 1943: The SS adm. office instructs all concentration-camp commandants to send human hair taken from Jews to Alex Zink's firm.

  39. Jan 3, 1943: Polish President Raczkiewicz requests that Pope Pius XII denounce German atrocities against the Jews. Pius remains silent.

  40. January 2, 1940: The Generalgouvernement in Poland decrees that Jews may not post obituaries.

  41. Jan 1, 1939: Jews are eliminated from the German economy; their capital is seized, though some continue to work under Germans.

  42. Dec 31, 1942: By this date, the German Reich has deported more than 2 million Jews to death camps.

  43. Dec 31, 1941: Abba Kovner calls for armed Jewish resistance to the Nazis, proclaiming, "We must not go like sheep to the slaughter!"

  44. Dec 30, 1942: Pope Pius XII tells an American rep that he regards the stories about Jews as exaggerations "for the purposes of propaganda."

  47. December 1941: Mass executions of Jews from Odessa took place at Acmecetca and Dumanovca as well as at Bogdanovca, Romania.

  48. Dec 26, 1942: French royalist Fernand Bonnier de la Chapelle is executed by Vichy firing squad after fatally wounding Francois Jean Darlan.

  49. Dec 25, 1943: Trucks carrying naked Jewish women make regular trips to the gas chamber at Auschwitz-Birkenau.

  50. Dec 24, 1943: At Borki, Poland, 60 Jews working on an exhumation squad attempt to escape through a tunnel, but few of them are successful.
