    BIG IMPORTANT CAVEAT: these scores were developed and validated in European-ancestry women. Similar prediction accuracy should be achievable in other groups, but will take larger population-specific studies to realize.

    By using individual data, authors were able to prune using conditional regression analyses, rather than pairwise r2 values, as typically done in “prune and threshold” analyses. They also performed regularized regression (lasso).

    Polygenic risk scores for breast cancer and estrogen-receptor subtypes, developed using individual-level data on 170,000 cases and controls from the Breast Cancer Association Consortium. 313 SNPs can identify 1% of women at 4.3-fold increased risk of ER+ disease.

    Important session at this morning - a discussion of the need for greater diversity in human genetics, led by . She leads off with a pretty astonishing statistic: Europeans are 80% of samples in genetic studies, vs 16% of the global population.

    We are seeing a positive trend in authors sharing summary statistics, with many authors/consortia (thanks , MAGIC) now contacting us and asking us to host. We're working hard on increasing this and welcome more community engagement!

    GWAS Catalog says that only 20% of PIs reply to emails requesting summary stats. Half of those that reply share data, the other half have a variety of excuses. Only 5% of all GWAS Catalog studies now have summary stats available. This is ridiculous. Let’s fix this!
