We have now united every opposition party behind this bill, because it is *not* a radical ask: we want to give effect to basic provisions of int law & human rights. Thank you @fiannafailparty @Labour @sinnfeinireland @greenparty_ie @SocDems @pb4p @solidarityie & Independents

You are now one step closer to making Ireland the most hostile and Antisemitic nation in Europe. Possibly the world ... after Iran. You're also one step closer to jeopardizing countless Irish jobs & tech industry. Yeah, well done!https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2019-01-23/how-much-is-ireland-willing-to-pay-to-boycott-israel …
-
Arsen your passionate support for Israels profiteering on stolen land is your own personal choice , Ireland is not and has never been hostile or antisemitic toward the Jewish People. Get a grip on reality.

Well at least it is now official....Ireland is the most anti Israeli country in Europe....More so than many of the Arab countries....
-
When Israel stops behaving like a totalitarian pariah state we might change our mind

-
Tiny Israel shows restraint actually...If HAMAS or PA or Hezbollah or Muslim Brotherhood had the Israeli mllitary machine for one week....Then !!!!!

What part of ILLEGAL do you not understand? You accuse Israel of flouting international law, then you do it yourselves
Hypocritical or what? -
Since "BDS" began in 2005 Israel's GDP has doubled! It's an utter failure & this Bill will backfire as well. It forces people to see the truth; that "BDS" is just a pathetic lie used to try to destroy the Jewish state. Israel abides by the rule of law & is here to stay.pic.twitter.com/PldjT8xieH

Seriously, is this compatible with EU Single Market regulations? Irrespective of the rights and wrongs of the principle, this has the sense of not having been fully thought through.
-
The settlemets are illegal. Period. They directly violate international law/Geneva conventions, as such, all settlement products should by rights be banned. What use is international law if it isn't honoured?
-
I'm not arguing with the principle, as I said. However, Ireland has obligations as an EU member state to comply with the rules of the Single Market. Acting unilaterally in this way is unhelpful.
-
If such obligations necessitate the violations of international law and and our very basic humanity, then the only decent/responsible thing to do is go rogue.
-
Would Israel need to take Ireland to the EU courts and argue that we are not allowed to take action against the illegal settlements? We can hope I guess.
