Other collars can release noxious smelling chemicals as a means of dissuading pets from certain behaviors. Both of these devices have been shown to cause – and worsen – behavioral problems and anxiety in pets.

TIL about the "Barefoot Bandit," a Washington kid who began living in the wild at age 7. He was responsible for over 100 thefts including airplanes he learned to pilot by playing flight simulators. He was finally apprehended after crash-landing in the Bahamas with a Cesna he stole in Indiana.
