I came on Reddit and was swept up in the memes and energy of the Donald but I can no longer support this president. Too many lies. Too many allies lost. Too many personal friends and family members hurt by his policies.

I’m sorry America. Next election I won’t make the same mistake.

What mistake did you make exactly? It seems like you didn't vote for him, so are you just regretting supporting him? And if so, when did that change? Seems kind of abrupt, considering your sentiment up to this post.

Edit: I think everyone's skimming my comment and not considering my actual questions. If it looks like I'm coming at the OP, that was not my intent nor did I ever claim they lied about voting for him (he never said he did). I was just curious in what ways someone would regret supporting Trump without actually voting for him.

Also, thanks, OP, for replying.

I mean, he never said he voted. I’m seeing he supported Trump, maybe that means he shared pro Trump propaganda and encouraged others to vote for him. I don’t know, OP should clarify this, but I think he could have still supported without voting. I know many people with green cards, for instance, who support Trump and can’t vote yet.

That’s exactly correct. Lots of Facebook memes. Just brainless shit really.

His name is Nicholas Fuentes. He left BU because he was too much of a snowflake and an asshat to his peers and adults. His old RA told us that before his arrival, his parents asked them to give him a bit of extra care because of his conservative views. Kid gets here, and is an immediate ass to everyone - then he starts making shit up about getting death threats after his dumb interview video went viral on campus. He wanted to be a villian so badly. Nobody ever sent him any threats. He's just kind of a little bitch.

Nancy Pelosi: "A constitutional crisis."

(Regarding the Nunes Memo)

Who's more capable of gauging what the political impact of a publicly-released memo is?

This sub or Nancy Pelosi?

This 100%. He also makes rather simple points sound much more complicated. He’s a decent guy but underwhelming when really broken down as far as intellectuals go

You look great in every photo! I love the addition of one with no makeup. I’m glad that you’re trying to spread the positivity that I’m sure you’re feeling. ❤️ Everyone on this sub is powerful and beautiful and in transitioning you can only become MORE powerful and beautiful. 💪🏻

Everyone on this sub is powerful and beautiful? That statement seems a little... I don't know... false?

It’s actually an opinion. So therefore can’t be false. I’m sure if you google opinion the definition will come up and you can educate yourself. 😊 I maybe got baited by your attempt at trolling, but this is the only thing I’ll say about it. Have a bad day, plz. 😊

Classifying a statement as an opinion doesn't mean the statement isn't false.

Yeah, let’s cut the shit. The GOP has always been anti-civil rights, pro police brutality, pro-big business, anti-women’s rights, homophobic, and in love with bigotry. Your party has demonized intellectualism and academia and is flirting with fascism. So why are you still a member of that party?

You Russia enabling, Nazi-sympathizing GOP fucks all share the blame.

The GOP has always been anti-civil rights? You're joking right? How did the Civil Rights act go over in terms of party lines?

I made this username years ago because I felt like the internet in general and Reddit in specific hated republicans and the right wing.

Back then, I would have supported the GOP, but now the GOP has completely abandoned me and what I want to happen. I have not changed, I still have conservative ideals, but within the last five years or so they've shifted enough to make me not represented in any way, shape, or form by them.

Fuck the GOP, as a man I can't support anyone who supports Trump (who makes creepy statements about his own daughter) or Roy Moore (trawls for children) or who don't call out Milo (pedophile rapist supporter), like its not even about politics anymore, its just nasty people.

Glad I didn't make my name /u/BlatantRepublican, that was an option I thought of at the time.

Who did Milo rape?

Next year just let Hillary Clinton bloviate intermittently throughout a 2-hour U2 concert in which they debut their new album which is just 4 hastily put together songs that talk about love trumping hate.

It's gonna kill.

Meanwhile:

  • 72% of Republicans say that Trump is a good role model
  • 82% of Republicans say that Trump shares their values
  • 80% of Republicans say that Trump provides the country with moral leadership

So, if you're using this "it's not about morality" to keep supporting him, keep in mind that you are cooperating with a party that deeply believes that he does embody morality. A party that hopes to train your children to emulate him.

Your child's immortal soul may be destroyed with your cooperation, but hey - tax cut! Sweeeeet!

My child will NEVER be raised to emulate politicians whatsoever. If you're a mind-bogglingly horrible parent that points to candidates as role models you're ruining your own kid's sense of morality, not whoever is in office.

So, presumably, said a lot of people who sent their kids to the Boy Scout jamboree, where the President bragged to them about his friend's orgy yacht.

You aren't the only influence on your kids. When the ruling party hails a man as the pinnacle of America, your kids hear it. When they glorify lust and greed and cruelty and ignorance and racism and crudity, they hear it.

You can't control the voices out there, but you can control which ones you glorify, and you can influence which ones your church glorifies.

Exactly. No one I know "glorifies" Donald Trump. My church certainly doesn't. Neither party has produced anyone since I was born that I would feel comfortable pointing to as a "pinnacle of America" in terms of morality.

When my kids are of age I'm sure we will have all kinds of conversations about the horrendously awful game that is American politics. Until then, I'll be as good of a parent as possible and point them to legitimate role models, one of which will not be a politician.

I guess my question is: has there ever been a candidate for any party that you felt could be pointed to as a pinnacle or morality? I sure as hell cant think of one.

This is the crux of the issue isn't it? Eskimo brothers are Eskimo brothers. But does one Eskimo deserve to be recognized because he was the first Eskimo to fuck?

He's clown the world over. Look everybody has opinions. Look at the worst movies ever made, even they have cult followings of die hard fans. Same goes for politics. Majority of opinion is he's a dunce and easily manipulated. America is going to suffer for his presidency. The entire world economy is booming trump is taking credit for it just like taking credit for zero airline accidents around the world. Everybody's laughing regardless if you hear it or not.
