Honor 7X, sporting the premium thin bezels look at an affordable price, is coming to the U.S.

Looking for a phone that looks like an expensive new handset with thin bezels, an 18:9 aspect ratio, but doesn't cost an arm and a leg? Then buddy, have we got news for you. Last month we introduced you to the Honor 7X, a mid-range offering from Huawei's sub-brand that aims to look like an expensive top shelf model. Launched in China on October 17th, word came out today that other countries are destined to receive the Honor 7X. We should be hearing more about this on December 5th.

The Honor 7X features a 5.93-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160. Even if you failed basic math 101, you can compute that 18:9 aspect ratio using your fingers, toes, and a calculator. This is the brand's first phone to feature such a screen, which really shouldn't come as much of a surprise. The home-grown Kirin 659 chipset is under the hood, carrying an octa-core CPU and a Mali-T830 MP2 GPU.

A dual camera setup adorns the back of the unit (16MP and 2MP), while the selfie snapper in front weighs in at 8MP. 4GB of RAM is inside and the lights are kept on thanks to the 3340mAh battery stuffed into the phone. A fingerprint scanner is placed on back, and Android Nougat is pre-installed with Huawei's EMUI on top. The model with 32GB of native storage will probably run around $200, or you can pay up for 64GB ($260) or 128GB ($305) of native storage. The color options even sound premium with choices between Aurora Blue, Midnight Black, and Platinum Gold.

As we said, we should know more about pricing and availability of the Honor 7X in the states on December 5th. But that doesn't mean that you shouldn't check in often for the latest on this mid-ranger that wants to play in the same sandbox with the more expensive handsets.

Huawei unveils Honor 7X

Following the launch of the Mate 10, Huawei has decided to announce a new mid-range smartphone — called the 7X — under the company's Honor sub-brand, and just like other Honor-branded smartphones, the 7X offers a great bang-for-your-buck.

The Huawei Honor 7X, which sports a metal body with reinforced corners to withstand any possible impact, features a 5.93-inch 2160x1080 "FullView" (18:9) display, a Huawei Kirin 659 octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage (expandable), an 8MP front facing camera, a dual rear camera setup (16MP+2MP monochrome), a fingerprint scanner on the back, a micro-USB port (not Type-C), a 3,340mAh battery, and Android 7.0 Nougat (not the latest 8.0 Oreo) with EMUI 5.1.

Unfortunately, there's no word on pricing. However, we do know that the Honor 7X will come in black, blue, and gold colors, and it will be sold exclusively through Amazon in India.
