"I was going to write a post about women and women in romance novels. Something along the lines of everyone has to be assaulted and Victorian virgins and that RL women seem to feel the same way. After all that we did 30 years ago… makes me wonder why we bothered. But, I got over my pissy-ness and left the starts of it in drafts. May finish it one day.
Was going to write a blog post about authors only being on Facebook with their contests and freebies…. Not all of us are on Facebook. Not all of us wish to be harassed. Not all of us want to be part of the “did you read what they put on Facebook….” every time we are out in the village. Get the jist… finally, my eldest is understanding why one avoids Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc… and why he has a flip phone not a smart phone. But, I decided it wasn’t worth it either.
I have been doing a lot of rereading lately. Very little interests me and the price of new books can be very expensive. I have a number of cheapies from AAR’s “steals and deals” list (wish I had found that years ago), but I just haven’t gotten around to reading them yet. Mood… is the problem.
Went for lunch this week re: a board I joined Got told zilch wrt what I needed to know to do my “thing” except that I was told the dude I was to talk to was ill… how ill, how long, if he’s better, was it just the stomach bug that was going around or much more… no idea. But, in the end someone else paid… whether or not I’ll keep going is still… debatable. I also signed up for a volunteer gig a few hours a week. Handed in all the paperwork… need to do some blood/TB stuff still but that’s after orientation and that’s not until May… so no rush there and time to get the yard cleaned up. Took the kid for his first Univ tour and helped make a few decisions wrt program. The one we were thinking about… not quite what he was looking for so it’s “b” he’s going to apply to there. One down… 2 more Univs to go and see.
Dh thought he’d get some bananas and like usual didn’t finish them. There’s a reason I don’t buy fruit very often unless I am planning on using it in a recipe. So, I am off to make banana bread. It’s either that, or throw them out.
