Home Repair Question

I need to replace some hardware on a set of interior french doors. I don't know what to call them, and because of that, am having a tough time finding the parts I need.

I took this picture this morning with hopes of showing them to someone at the hardware store and getting a match.

That said, what do I call this pin and receptacle-type thing whose job it is to keep the doors closed?

What you're looking for is a catch latch. That's just one form of the many forms that they come in. If you can't find that one you can always settle on an alternate means with a different style latch.

It wasn't the whole weekend, which is a good thing.. just all day Sunday. Fortunately, at least one of my problems isn't so immediate that it had to be fixed same day/weekend. The ceiling in the den has leaked twice before in the past. The first time required a full bathroom remodel.
