I want to tell Millennials who don't understand Hillary Clinton that this election is more than just about our important young generation and their future.

It is also about their parents, and the struggles they, too, have had, and continue to have, in life.

It is about the single woman and man, Yes, but also about the single male or female parent, about the pain of divorce and the cost of childcare, it is about how hard it is to care for a child and work, it is about the awful reality that so many women are still having to choose between having a family or having a career.

It is about the dear financial cost of getting and education, Yes, but it is also about the scores of men and women who lost their homes in the 2008 mortgage crisis and haven't recovered and will never recover.

Yes, it is about how difficult it can be to get a job once one has that precious degree under one's belt, but it is also about the horror of having worked hard all one's life, only to be let go at the young age of 40, or 50, or 60, when one is still viable and operating on all cylinders and at the high of one's creative, intellectual and contributing powers, but no one wants you because your are being replaced by a Millennial.

It is about the fear of ongoing war, and ISIS and terrorism, Yes, but it is also about the pain of having lost loved ones in the Viet Nam war, of standing on the streets in the rain decades ago protesting after Kent State, of watching your male college chums disappear in the draft and never return to school.

It is about needing access to good health care, but it is also about honoring the battles the generations of women who fought for every woman's benefit - ensuring a right to choice, securing Roe v. Wade as the law of the land, pushing the movement that has allowed young women to time their reproductive choice so that it works for them.

It is about caring what happens to our elders who are living with Alzheimer's and related dementia.

It is about the cost of a mortgage if you are swamped with school debt. But it is also about the cost of long term care if you have no family to care for you.

It is about embracing our sexuality and taking charge of our identities, and it is about the women who fought to make that happen over the course of decades and decades and decades.

It is about being paid what one is worth, and it is about the history of the battle for equality, understanding that history, learning about the women who have led that charge, carried that flag, borne that torch, and passed it on to the current generation. It is about understanding why the wheels of change turn so slowly and all of the rocks that need to be moved off the road to pave the way for change.

It is about young men and women standing side-by-side with their parents, with older men and women they've never met, with perfect strangers, and understanding one another's problems, issues, battles, concerns.

It is not about Millennial vs. Boomer.

Without Boomers there would be no Millennials.

We need to support one another.

And, No, It is not true that someday somehow someway a woman will be President anyway and so it doesn't need to be now.

No one would ever say, 'Well, someday there won't be racism anymore, so I don't need to fight that battle.'

No one would ever say, 'Well, someday everyone will embrace the transgender community, and so I don't need to take that issue on.'

No one would ever say, 'Well, someday there won't be any more shootings of innocent black men wearing hoodies, so I don't need to fight for that cause.'

No one would ever say, 'Well, someday some brilliant group of scientists and politicians will fix it so that we aren't polluting our Earth, so I can just go to the movies and forget about it today.'

No one would ever say, 'Well, someday women will be paid equally for equal work and so I don't need to participate in the public discourse about that.'

So, reading essays like Elizabeth Word Gutting's What My Mother Sees in Hillary, is an important reminder to Stop. Read. Listen. Think.

Well. My mother persevered. She smiled politely and bit her tongue and did what she had to do to survive those rough years. Remind you of anyone? - Elizabeth Word Gutting

Ms. Gutting could have written this article about my own mother.

Or about me, or the scores of women I have worked with in my professional life for whom this essay rings absolutely true.

Thank you for reading.

P.S. I will not put up with any hate comments in this post, FYI...

That is true +Donna Buckles, but for me dangerous comes in different forms. For some, Cruz is more dangerous than Trump (or was, rather). The danger that I personally see in Sanders is denial of the strangest kind...the cost of all of the programs that he is proposing, but a refusal to deal with where the money is coming from. On the one hand we have Trump claiming that he is going to, effectively, take away a lot of things, freedom for one, he's going to build walls and exclude people from entering the country, punish women for getting abortions, all sorts of crazy things. On the other hand, Sanders is going to give lots of people lots of things - free education for all, a universal healthcare program for everyone, whether they are working and already covered through their employers or not, lowered taxes for everyone (except the top 1%)...and I do think that is equally dangerous. It's a different kind of danger than what Trump, who is running on fear, offers but it is dangerous nonetheless.

It is a strange and intriguing and confounding thing to be confronted over and over and over again with the dreaded 'trust' issue, Bernie slamming Hillary for voting for the War, but cozying up to the NRA...I mean it's really stunning that when asked what he would say to the families of Sandy Hook victims he says that Hillary should apologize for Iraq. I think this is dangerous stuff, but some people don't see it as such because Trump appears to be more of a loose canon than Sanders. But I feel that way about Bernie.

I attended, in large part out of wanting to be educated about the issues, the AIPAC conference in Washington in March. Hillary spoke. Cruz spoke. Kasich spoke. Ryan spoke. Biden spoke. Trump spoke. Sanders was invited and declined...because he wanted instead to go to Arizona to campaign for himself (Hillary beat him there).

It was supremely odd because he is Jewish...so the danger that I see is that he will say whatever he has to say to a certain group of people who are besotted with him, just like Trump will, but he refuses to deal with the consequences or the cost, financial and otherwise, of the claims he is making.

I do want to add that I think the birth of the Bernie Bros under Sander's leadership is very dangerous in and of itself, and, mark my words, it is only going to get worse, more violent and more nasty as the campaign season goes on.

We don't have a gun problem, we have a gang problem (Chicago) and we have a radical Muslim problem. More people die from knives, hammers and the third largest cause of death is doctors.

" #HillaryClinton Is A Danger To World Peace", French Presidential Frontrunner Le Pen Warns -- http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-05-20/frances-le-pen-warns-clinton-danger-world-peace

American media has repeatedly likened GOP presumptive nominee #DonaldTrump to France's far-right Front-National party leader, and frontrunner in polling for the French 2017 presidential election, #MarineLePen and while the forthright French politician has not explicitly named a "preferable" candidate for US president, her comments today suggest it is not Hillary Clinton.

Stating that the "EU is in the brink of collapse," as two of its main 'pillars' are "crumbling" despite the billions of euros spent on keeping the structure from falling, Le Pen's gravest fear is Hillary Clinton winning the White House because it would constitute "a danger for the world peace," as she would continue to drag Europe into her"destructive policy" of conflicts.

Hillary Clinton and Brian Williams are both such stooges because they would easily fall prey to the prank call routines of Tom "Captain Janks" Cipriano. From what I recall, Brian Williams has already been on the receiving end of a prank call from Mr. Cipriano and his employer (NBC) has been bamboozled repeatedly by Mr. Cipriano.

#hillaryclinton 's grandiose plan for sustainability and energy?

First point: a lot of money on #solarpower ; a shame it is not sustainable at all, unless you mean sustainable as a populist point, given the fact that such a discontinuous source would require more back-up old school sources (nuclear, I would hope, or carbon/wood burning plants as is the case in Germany).

The rest is not much better: slogans and promises, meh...

Lol -- Hillary Clinton said Thursday that presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump’s “divisive and dangerous” behavior is a telltale sign that he’s not qualified to be president.
