The Belt and Road Initiative may take up to 50 years to fully develop, but even at half completion stage it is still a formidable trading network contributing to an estimated 50 - 60% of the global GDP. The road ahead is filled with uncertainties because of Geopolitical changes taking place all the time, however as underdeveloped nations in the BRI network improve economically and jobs are created for people, we can expect lesser territorial conflicts and terrorist nuisance in these countries.

BELT AND ROAD INITIATIVE NOT CHINA'S BUSINESS ALONE: XI

More than 100 countries have joined the initiative whose objective is to build a global transport and trade link. Chinese President Xi Jinping has said that despite China being the initiator and propeller of the Belt and Road Initiative, however, it is not his country's business alone.

"It should also welcome other countries to board China's express train of development, and help them realise their own development objectives," he added.
