THE WHY
How many times have you heard that keeping a journal focused on personal growth might be a good idea? That it will increase your level of happiness, productivity, and focus. And how many times have you abandoned doing so after the first few days of inspiration?
We've been there, so we set out to create an app that would make keeping a journal so easy and engaging, that you would anticipate instead of dread filling it.
THE HOW
Growth Journal asks you three things: What are you grateful today? What did you learn today? What is your goal for tomorrow? These questions are based on ideas from individuals such as Benjamin Franklin, Robin Sharma, Jim Rohn, Tony Robbins - and are designed to help you make the most of journalling on the journey towards personal growth.
Draw insights from your daily journaling habit through an interactive gratitude cloud, listing of your last ten lessons, and percetage of crushed days. Set a daily reminder to fill the journal entry and receive powerful quotes as a reward.
App features:
- Ultra fast entry with a few taps
- Gratitude cloud giving an overview of multiple entries easily
- Easy learning sharing on Twitter
- Tracking of daily goals achievement
- Entry reminder
- Calendar view with editing options
- Multi-entry
Premium features ($0.99/month)
- Cloud sync
- Password protection
Finally, please note this is only the start to our journey so feedback is extremely welcome. Just email us at support (@) growthjournal.co

Love it but wish "recent learnings" displayed the whole entry on the wordcloud page. Also want to remove the "default" tag?
I like that there is now the ability to go back and add an entry to a day we missed but now when I go back to view old entries on the calendar it shows entries for the present day. Hopefully that can be fixed.
I want to thank you for your app. I have tried too many journal and diary apps, and never use them more than twice. Your color pallete is nice and cheerful; it is easy on the eyes. I took a mandatory personal growth class for college and this app matches the intention/discovery statement method taught. These statements help you grow so this app is very much delivers what it promises. Appearance 5/5 Content 5/5 Ease of use 5/5 Navigation 5/5 Strengths: Gratitude cloud Targets/goals Recent learnings Fricking Beautiful! To the devs, could you make days for past entries possible by clicking past date in calendar view. If not I understand, I should not be up till 3 am all the time anyways

Great apps for recording your daily progress while also make you feel grateful. The only problem is there is no way to write for yesterday. The app "strictly" force you to record based on android phone. Some night owl has a day end at 01.00 am, 03.00 am. Or perhaps some day end at 03.00am the next day and other time at 12.00pm. This result in one day has 2 journals while the other day has 0 journal (which differs from "don't break the chain" habit building) One more star will be added when the apps "edit" feature allow to change note date and also allow for note delete (at this time you need to write "deleted" in one of the field as the apps forced to have at least one entry field answered).

Love the simplicity and ease of use, and very aesthetically pleasing. I think I will enjoy using the app, but I'm confused about a couple of things. 1) Why can I only tag my gratitude entries? I want to be able to tag my learning and goals, too. 2) Where did my targets for tomorrow go? Doesn't seem to matter if I hit the X or the check mark -- either way, it vanishes. 3) I would like to be able to write , edit, and add to the three fields at different times throughout the day, as things occur to me. Maybe this is possible and I just haven't figured it all out yet. 4) I know this isn't a habit tracker... but it could serve that function too if I could have multiple targets and mark them as completed or not. This would eliminate the need for a separate habit tracker and further simplify my life. Thanks for making this lovely tool, and I hope my comments are helpful.

Great concept, it's simple and easy to use, enough so that you actually use it, but the deal breaker for me is that it doesn't allow you to make entries on past days. Like Cinderella, you have to check in before 12am, else you miss that day's entry, and no chance to edit it. This makes it very impractical for me.

Good point on the default tag - thanks for pointing out! We'll hide it in the next few days. Could you elaborate on the recent learnings by emailing [email protected]? It should show the whole sentence. I like that there is now the ability to go back and add an entry to a day we missed but now when I go back to view old entries on the calendar it shows entries for the present day. Thanks a lot for your feedback, truly appreciate it! We're actually working on making it possible to either change the date during entry or add new entries within the calendar - stay tuned! :) Great apps for recording your daily progress while also make you feel grateful. Thanks a lot Roberto, both great points and duly noted. Love the simplicity and ease of use, and very aesthetically pleasing. Thanks for the detailed comments Ruth!
1) Interesting, so far thought with learnings you'd want to see the whole sentence.
2) WIP, you'll soon have 'accomplished goals' under the goal screen
3) You should be able to do this! Just write on one row and save
4) You could do this by saving multiple entries per day
Hopefully this helps! Great concept, it's simple and easy to use, enough so that you actually use it, but the deal breaker for me is that it doesn't allow you to make entries on past days. Growth Journal July 2, 2017
Thanks for pointing that out Silvia, absolutely love the Cinderella analogy :)
We're currently in the final steps of making a new release with the possibility to add entries into the past - so you don't have to rush back from the ball with the prince. Probably available in the next 2-3 days.
Hopefully that'll fix the issue! I love the concept of it, reminds me of another planner (not a app) which is a bit too pricy for me. And I love the simplicity on it and the purpose of all the tabs - lettìng us see our recent learnings, the diary entry tab where the questions lead us to be more grateful etc, and the goals section. I can tell it's a pretty new app, but it's going to go far. However a few things run short for me and I was going to delete it without looking back (due to memory space), but saw that developer is responsive in reviews thus putting in a review. One thing that can make the app better is if we're able to edit and delete tags too and after completing goals, it won't disappear and perhaps we can un-complete it in case something crops up and the goal isn't completely completed. Due to memory space I may still delete it for the time being but I will always keep an eye out on this since developers seem to be responsive and implementing changes users suggested. edit to reply: That would be awesome. It'll be motivating to see all your completed goals (in a tab) etc.
Growth Journal June 6, 2017
Thanks Yiichanne, extremely useful feedback - editing tags is a no-brainer that I've missed. What would you think of having three expandable tabs on Daily Goals screen: open goals, completed goals, missed goals, and being able to edit them? Very good app with responsive developer. Gladly pay for the app. Anyway u can allow local backup or backup to gmail or drive it will.be great. Also allowing swiping left or right between days in the edit entries page will make it feel more intuitive
Growth Journal June 2, 2017
Thanks Kenny! Definitely aiming to get the backup in the next version. Love the idea of swiping between days - great idea. It love the idea of this Growth Journal app, but it doesn't show you your daily "What am I grateful for today" It just disappears and you never see it again. And if you accomplish "What is my target for tomorrow, that disappears too, and you can't reclaim it. I think it is very important to see those things, as well as have more than three questions, maybe an open statement section so you can put how you are feeling, etc. That is all part of growth. I felt that the app is very promising, but it is lacking a couple things, as I have stated for it to be one that I can use regularly. Maybe if they make some adjustments, I will try using this app again in the future.
This is a lovely, intelligently crafted journal that I feel optimistic will help break the spell that's rendered me unable to journal ever since my online journal was pillaged some years ago. I really appreciate the concealed genius that lies within those three simple questions, and am a little torn in wondering whether having an additional section for free-written notes would dam the flow provided here... It seems to me that the opportunity to write whatever one pleases contrasts so vastly with the energetic space into which we are invited by the three questions, which offer us a place to quietly (or not) reflect for a moment on three specific points... I don't like the idea of conflicting energies in my journal. Nevertheless, I can see the merit in this consideration, and am curious about whether or not anyone else has been thinking over the pro's vs. con's of requesting a small section for free writing in the journal (perhaps with a word limit to maintain some flow)? As far as the rest of the application, my rating is only as low as this because I am unable to easily look back on my full entries, and because I cannot date my entries with past dates. This is a beautiful journaling application, which I look forward to watching bloom into its fullest potential.
Growth Journal July 17, 2017
Thanks for writing us Tess, really appreciate it! We've had many people ask about the free writing, so definitely thinking about how to add it without losing the simplicity. With the latest update you are able to now choose the date for a new entry as well as edit old ones - hope it helps! Awesome however Whatif I want to add more than one entry and why is it compulsory to fill out all the 3 Questions
Growth Journal May 20, 2017
Thanks for the feedback Rakesh! In the new version you can actually have multiple entries, with only one answer. Give me a shout if it's not working for you at [email protected] Finally! I've been searching for a good and simple app that can help me practice my gratitude and at-the-end-of-day recollection journal. The lemon and mint color used is very refreshing in my eyes. Everything is very clear and straightforward. Really loving this!
Growth Journal July 17, 2017
Thanks a million Grace! :) I like the app, helps me recap my lessons learnt and my next day's growth objective. However, there is something wrong with my tags. Only the first tag remains... Wish list: Section for personal mission that can be revised / refined. Keeps the end in mind as I reflect on the day that has passed.
Growth Journal May 6, 2017
Thanks Sheila! You're right about the tags, we should have a fix ready in the next week or two. Love the idea about the personal mission, will think about the best way of incorporating that without losing the simplicity. Thanks. Wonderful app! The app is now working well after I reinstalled it. (I couldn't recover the past progress but that's fine- just in case, is there a way of recovering it?).You were awesome to provide such great service. And this app is awesome!
Growth Journal October 23, 2016
Update: My pleasure! Glad it helped. Due to the different database you can't continue where you left off, but let me know at [email protected] if you'd prefer access to the old version instead. I like this app a lot, but you should make it should that I can change the date of the entry. Like if I finished it at 12:30am on Tuesday, I would really want it to be Monday's entry. Since it seems best to complete the entry at the end of the day.
Growth Journal March 15, 2017
Thanks a lot for feedback! I'll see if we can add that with the next version. If there's anything else, let me know at [email protected]. Cheers! I love the whole concept of following up tomorrow with what you learned today! Is there a way to have more than one entry per day? Thanks!
Growth Journal April 22, 2017
Thanks for the feedback Dana! I've heard the request for multiple entries per day from several people now so definitely working to add that. Very well thought out app. Would love to be able to add more questions along with the basic ones.
Growth Journal May 2, 2017
Thanks Abhijit, I've thought of adding possibility for more question but that would slightly take away from the simplicity. Will keep in mind! I love this app! By asking you essential questions, one would have clarity in evaluating one's day and one's growth.

Thanks! I've been thinking about adding the backup option but to manage expectations that might become a premium service due to the costs involved. Any other feedback is super welcome at [email protected] Growth Journal April 12, 2017
Hi Subhaleena, not yet but I've added it for the next version! That said, there is something beautiful about living with our 'mistakes' Growth Journal April 12, 2017

Hi Lewis, sorry to hear you had an awful experience. We're working hard to make the app better every day, so would you mind sharing your thoughts on how could we make Growth Journal a great app? Simple yet powerful Perfect app for journal entries. User friendly interface, clean design emphasising ease of use.
Good one.. I appreciate this app.. user friendly, loaded with features and most importantly.. Privacy oriented..!!
Fantastic app Allows multiple daily entries but I simply create one and then edit it each time I want to add more.
I've been looking for something like this and enjoy the simiplicity
Finally! Statistic section could be improved but a great start.
