Isabel Hagen is a stand-up comedian and classically trained violist. Every little girl’s dream. As a comic, she has been featured twice on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and was a New Face of Comedy at the Just for Laughs festival in Montréal. Isabel started stand-up right after earning her Bachelors and Masters degrees in viola performance from the Juilliard School. As a violist, Isabel has played in the orchestra for several productions on Broadway including Les Miserables, Fiddler on the Roof, The Lion King and Rocktopia. She has performed and worked with numerous artists such as Björk, Ed Sheeran, Max Richter, The National, and Steve Reich. You might be wondering if Isabel ever combines viola and comedy. The answer: sometimes! Commonwealth Sanctuary is Cincinnati’s home for exquisitely curated live entertainment. Each week we bring you hilarious stand-up comedians, intimate concerts, unique theater productions, live podcast recordings, and so much more. Commonwealth Sanctuary is housed in the recently renovated, historic former Tower Methodist Church, originally built in 1914. It is no longer a church! Rather, we have converted the purpose of this beautiful old building to bringing you exquisitely curated live entertainment. We have, however, gone to great lengths to preserve the original character of the building while updating for it’s new purpose. We retained all the original stained glass windows and custom-built, curved pews. We have added a full concession stand with draft beer and wine, as well as many canned drinks, including cocktails and Delta-9 beverages. We partner with local Dayton, KY business Kate’s Catering for our prepared food options. We have added full lighting and sound systems, as well as a complete broadcast-quality video system for recording events and live podcasts. We are exclusively partnered with Third Rule Media to produce our recorded content.

After a brief hiatus to address overwhelming demand, Eric W. Stiles Sr. is relaunching his affordable online classes in sewing, tailoring, patternmaking, and garment construction. With years of experience teaching online through partnerships with 62 U.S. colleges, including your state. Stiles is making his return with a renewed approach to guiding aspiring designers.
This time, the courses will be hosted directly on Stiles' dedicated website, offering self-paced learning tailored for students nationwide and beyond. These affordable classes are perfect for those managing busy schedules or unable to attend in-person sessions at Stiles’ EWS Academy in Oak Park, IL, or Moraine Valley College in Palos Hills, IL. For learners unable to join at these locations, the online format provides flexibility to master sewing and tailoring skills from anywhere.
The first round of classes kicks off on Monday, February 10, 2025, with each session running for two weeks. Registration is now open—be sure to secure your spot early! Classes will be delivered via email, along with a special password for access. When registering, please ensure you provide the email address you regularly use.
Students will gain two-week-24-hour a day access to each class through a unique password, which will expire at the end of that 2-week session. To continue their learning journey, participants should then register for the next phase of classes.

Adventure Crew is hosting its annual gear sale and donation day at MadTree Brewing in Oakley from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 25. Sellers can register (no fee required!) in advance to sell paddle craft, bikes, hiking equipment, outdoor apparel and other gently used adventure gear. Seller registration will close January 20 or when space is filled. If you'd rather buy than sell, mark your calendar and plan to come shop for deals on new-to-you items! It's a great way to both save cash and shop sustainably. Adventure Crew will also accept gear donations for our teens and for resale at the event. Our most-needed items for adventures are winter coats, snow pants, water shoes, sleeping bags (20 degrees or below) and sleeping pads (not inflated by mouth).
