Okay, so now sent me this email, after I asked him when the interview is gonna air (was supposed to be on tonight). Stay tuned.

So just called me a ‘fucking moron’ during a prerecord for his show, for pointing out that he’s a millionaire funded by billionaires. Let’s see if they’ll air it. ‘Did they get it on audio?? Fuck fuck fuck’ we heard them say here.. (Yes, we did.)

My point of view from the stage was different, don't see why you should call that a 'lie'. See also the reaction from the Yahoo ex-CFO, who was definitely upset with me. And very few people came up to me afterwards - unusual.

Think all the mega wealthy are against higher taxes? Think again. Listen to .01%er on on case for wealth taxes and much higher income tax rates on people like him. Plus who went viral for his take-down of Davos man

Here's the link to this debate with the think tank guy who lives in a bubble of fake numbers. They edited out to most bizarre bits, but it's still... well, take a listen:

I really don’t understand why basic income suddenly has to be a tool that pushes people into paid work. In earlier experiments the work DISincentive effect of basic income was small. In this case it even turned out to be zero. Still not enough?

Finland gave people free money. It didn’t help them get jobs — but does that matter?

Well this is a fascinating confounding variable to find in the full report of Finland's experiment. Apparently the treatment group was not equal to the control group and in fact received a total of $1898 less, and yet they were still happier!

Loved this conversation with & ! My thanks to the for making this happen, precisely the kind of conversation we need to be having. But … are we REALLY that radical? Or is it just common sense?

This seems important. On page 13 of the report on the Finnish 'basic income' pilot we read: 'A majority of individuals in the treatment group did not benefit from the lower bureaucracy'. Can we even call this a basic income experiment? (h/t )

To be honest, I think that the Finnish basic income pilot gets way too much attention relative to its scientific value. The Great Smoky Mountains Study, that began in 1992 (!), is so much better.

That's annoying for the person who was interviewed, but understandable, not a journalistic sin. This is different I think. The purpose of the pre-interview is to have a better actual interview. But in practice it almost never works that way..

This happened to me so many times: you have an interesting conversation with a thoughtful producer, and then the actual interview is with a presenter who reads nothings, knows nothing and asks one stupid question after another. Just now with BBC World News.

Journalists wondering which expert they should call for comments on the Finnish basic income experiment - try . He wrote a couple of excellent and nuanced reports about it.

Ja objectiever zou iets zijn als: 'Eerste resultaten Finse proef basisinkomen: welzijn verbetert, geen effect op werk'
