Not quite true. Scrapping won't start until next year. Northern were supposed to have 60 extra sprinters from GWR and scotrail but have received less than half. Plus they have to use diesels to cover Man-Preston route. That's causing short forms and replacement buses.

No one is really attributing this to current problems tho as it's not "network rails fault" and was clearly going to happen if they implemented #MayTimetable. We hope @railandroad enquiry picks this up as blame is clearly with @transportgovuk here

They're supposed to be electrics using 319s in #MayTimetable though this is small beer compared to lack of cascades as is unserviceable stock.
Of course I bet GWR and Scotrail got rid of their worst units in the cascade...

Yeah, I have done often. I wonder whether any safety laws are being broken regards air quality. Platform 6 area is about the worst when a few trains are all in at the same time
