On Israeli social media it seems that for some what’s happening in Gaza has taken a back seat to discussion about a satirical portrayal of Naftali Bennett and tefillin a.k.a. phylacteries on the show Eretz Nehederet.

This has importance but other questions need to be answered: 1. What was each person doing when they were killed? 2. Were they hard-core Hamas activists or recent recruits? 3. Were there non-lethal options that weren’t used?

Over the weekend some feminist activists had a little fun with the sign at the entrance to Jerusalem that says “Welcome” and changed it to be in the feminine. In Hebrew there is no gender neutral form.
