IMPRESSIONS This is an incredibly rich and diverse country – a nation of many views. But what really struck me was that most Iranians thought there would NOT BE WAR WITH AMERICA…

There is a liberal side to Iran. At a pop concert, people swayed in their seats – you’re not allowed to dance here. I asked the concert promoter who he would love to see play in Tehran

To escape the stress of Tehran, many Iranians hike in the mountains behind the capital. But even in the clean mountain air we found there is no escape from the sanctions.

The US says the sanctions are designed to curb Iran’s nuclear program and force Tehran back to the negotiating table. But Iranians say it’s the poorest that will suffer the most.

US sanctions are hitting the most vulnerable hardest. I met Mohammed who suffers from a rare genetic disorder. He can walk but is too weak to carry his school bag.

I’ve been meeting the last surgeons left in Idlib province in Syria - as they get training in how to better treat children caught in bomb blasts & traumatised by explosives. Their stories are utterly harrowing. My latest for & >

This is shocking . And in the US it would be the equivalent of approximately 70,000 deaths a year. It’s a national crisis and yet nobody seems to be awake to the scale of it. Young kids who lives are rendered worthless because they made one fatal mistake.
