The ultra-covert grand jury subpoena hearing at the DC Circuit last Friday just got a little less secret. New court ruling reveals a few more details, and that the case is good news for Mueller. www-m.cnn.com/2018/12/18/pol…

Michael Flynn sentencing POSTPONED after judge issues blistering rebuke of Flynn's lies while serving in the White House. Flynn had expected to be sentenced today, and after almost 2 hours with the judge in a DC federal courtroom, asked for a delay. cnn.it/2ECT0Wq

Judge Sullivan, having left the bench for a break, is now giving Flynn an opportunity to speak with his lawyers privately.
Will Flynn continue with sentencing today? Will he change his mind+cooperate more? Will Sullivan give him a harsher sentence than what Mueller suggested?

This Flynn hearing is NOT going the way it was expected by either Mueller's team or the defense. Judge Emmet Sullivan asked if Flynn committed treason.

Sorry, correction on this: Cohen was prosecuted by Mueller for lying to Congress (not to Mueller's team)

13/ And today, we have MICHAEL FLYNN. Mueller's team says he gave substantial assistance to multiple DOJ investigations, asked for no prison time.
Flynn said he took responsibility, but also wasn't fully aware of consequence of his FBI intvu.
In court action starting soon.

12/ Cohen got 3 years prison time for his financial crimes prosecuted by the Manhattan US Attorney's Office. For lying to Mueller's team (and then helping them by sharing truthful info over several interviews), he got a sentence of 2 months + $50,000 fine.

11/ Then there's Michael Cohen, the President's former lawyer. His case was more complex because he pleaded to several, more substantial crimes outside of the Mueller investigation before cutting a plea deal with Mueller too.

10/ Mueller said Pinedo helped them in the investigation in the Russian social media conspiracy. But it wasn't enough for prosecutors to write a formal letter to the judge about his cooperation/assistance.
Pinedo got 6 months in prison, 6 mo house arrest. He's in jail until May.

9/ Pinedo had never traveled outside of California before he had to meet with Mueller's team. Was a lifelong small town resident, former community college student, close to his family. Quite the contrast from the other politics-steeped defendants.

8/ RICHARD PINEDO. Pleaded guilty to identity fraud, after his online business sold Russians recycled bank accounts so they could fake profiles on PayPal then buy ads on social media. He then helped Mueller identify the Russians and understand their scheme.

7/ The judge sentenced Papadopoulos to 14 days in prison and a $9,500 fine. GP then initiated a campaign online (and, briefly and unsuccessfully in court) to discredit his plea deal/Mueller. Still did his time. He now has a docuseries in the works, says he's running for Congress.

6/ But then GP's legal team hit back by blaming Trump (and Jeff Sessions) for taking interest in Putin. At sentencing, his lawyer called him a fool who was duped by the Russians, and George apologized to the judge. This was a particularly gripping moment from his atty: pic.twitter.com/4hs88nf6EK

5/ Mueller team asked the judge to send GP to jail because his lies thwarted the national security investigation, especially hurting their ability to talk to the professor who told him about "dirt."

4/ GEORGE PAPADOPOULOS. The person many believe kicked off the Russia/Trump probe, after he bragged to a foreign diplomat that the Russians had dirt on Clinton. When FBI approached him last year, he lied about his contact during the campaign with two people linked to Russia govt.

3/ VDZ's law firm was cooperating with Mueller, but he was "caught red-handed" trying to hide his communications. Did not help Mueller team in any notable way.
Showed little remorse at sentencing, and his attys had argued he suffered from "boredom and anxiety" before sentencing.

2/ ALEX VAN DER ZWAAN. 1st Mueller defendant to be sentenced. Got 30 days in prison, was forced to leave the country. A Dutch lawyer working for a large American law firm. He admitted to lying about contact with other major players in the Mueller investigation (Kilimnik, Gates)
