No clear majority in first round of CDU leadership vote. AKK 50 votes short - she has 450, to Merz‘s 392 and Spahn‘s 157. So it’s a run-off. Big question is now how many Spahn voters will switch to Merz - it looks pretty good for him as things stand

Thank you! A government of national unity is a cross-party government. They are very rare in modern Britain. There was a Conservative-Liberal coalition 2010-15, but that was the first cross-party government since the second world war
|
