Deeply troubled by the horrific terrorist attack in & send our deepest condolences. The people of Afghanistan — who have long suffered from the menace of terrorism — stand in solidarity with the government & people of New Zealand on this difficult day.

5/5 In that regard, I would particularly caution the Afghan presidential hopefuls to exercise restraint and not end up on the wrong side of history. The country will judge you on how you treat your own, not what you do for others. Patriotism above all.

2/5 True peace is our people’s innate desire and our primary duty and our responsibility is to the 35 million Afghans, who aspire an honest and lasting peace, but also to all our partners who have invested in our country and people.

1/5 Just concluded an eventful trip to Washington, DC. I met with many friends of Afghanistan, including in the government, Congress, think tanks, and the media. I voiced our people’s legitimate concerns and made Afghanistan’s principled position clear.

The cold blooded murder of innocent Mahsa is tragic and a deplorable and inhumane crime. We and our proud ANDSF stand against the terrorists & criminals to create an environment in which no child or family will ever have to go through this unimaginable pain. There will be justice

I’ve ordered ANDSF to either abort or to wait-out a potential target if even a single civilian is present. Our security and defense forces are committed to the rules of war and engagement and they only provide proportionate response to any enemy attacks.

I've summoned the leaders of the ANDSF not only to provide explanation about previous investigations vis-a-vis civilian casualties, but also to deliberate about avoiding civilian losses in the future and to ultimately reduce and end the level of such unfortunate incidents.

These casualties are unacceptable to the Government and the leaderships of our ANDSF, if that is one person or more. In the past few years whenever we have received such reports they have been followed up urgently and efforts have been made to avoid harming civilians.

As President of a responsible state I must say that civilian casualties is the the most tragic event in times of war, it pains me as much as any other Afghan when I hear about harm to civilians.
