French 50 million fine for Google was triggered by a complaint by @NOYBeu ( NGO of @maxschrems ) & @laquadrature cnil.fr/en/cnils-restr… GDPR complaints can actually hurt companies.
Now let's wait for the appeals by Google and the resulting case law 🍿

If the online ad tech bubble bursts, shareholders of Facebook, Google, etc will still demand profits. The firms will think of new ways to exploit all those user data for profit. I’m not sure the world will become a better place in that scenario.
