haven't tried. ftrace is pretty old, I hope the ARM work is done by now. Searching ftrace & ARM on lkml shows some recent work

sounds dangerous; if I'm accessing something pre-fault, I try to look for another probe point that's post-fault to fetch it there

good idea; for built ins: right now, 3.x use ftrace; 4.1-4.8 try BPF; 4.9+ use BPF; anything use perf for sampling/PMCs

it'll cost overhead, but you could dump sched events (maybe only 2 seconds worth!) to perf.data and post-process in awk/perl.
