I think it’s because the threat was regarded as so minimal that it didn’t even reach the Level 1 ‘low’ threshold. For example, HMG is not going to also issue updates on far left or ecoterrorism - presumably because the threat is still so negligible.

But you’re right - I remember the initial coverage of that incident very much played up the mental health angle.

I considered that case but decided against including it as the perpetrator did end up prosecuted in court.

Could equally make the point that Labour's operation should have found out who was going to be in the room. Anyway, the whole episode just sums up how small-minded and petty much of Westminster truly is. Such a vital time in British history and these are our elected leaders!

I do sort of see Corbyn's point and it's increasingly clear the operation is No. 10 is a shambles. But the picture made me laugh so retweeting twitter.com/GuidoFawkes/st…

Not sure why you think I'm being disingenuous. And what am I linking to in my tweets if not media coverage? I'm certainly open to seeing examples of these being cases covered irresponsibly by tabloids. Oh and the Russell Square stabbing was obviously in the UK.

I'll be interested to see your research, Sulome. If you see examples of the media covering the same cases I am referring to in a reckless way in their immediate aftermath, I am genuinely open to seeing it.

Instead, I doubt many people remember these incidents precisely because they were not sensationalized in the press or widely reported as terrorism. And that's exactly how it should be: reporting the facts with no political bias. 13/

Of course journalists differ in quality. But if there really was a significant number intending to depict Muslims as terrorists, facts be damned, all of these stories could have been given a terror spin. 12/
