Fantastic documentary. Insightful and compassionate. Hard to believe that the Ireland of 1945 was so lacking in love. As a priest it makes me despair of the church, as an Irishman it commits me to social change. Thanks

Women like Peggy & Breda didn’t stand a chance. We should never forget or forsake them. Amazing to think Breda is still alive & institutionalised.

I am driving from Donegal down to Tipperary today. I had to pull in off the road to sit in stillness listening to the last ten minutes or so of this. Now stopped in Tuam for lunch. Oh Ireland, what we did to each other. What we still do.

sometimes you hear something that makes you stop everything you're doing and listen. Devastating documentary on what happened to Peggy McCarthy, her daughter and family at the combined hands of church and state. Required listening.
