Jehovah’s Witness knocks on my door JW: I’m here to tell you about our Lord Jehovah! Me: You know, we have a similar name for him too. JW: No way! Me: Yahweh! 😅

So you've already made an exception to your own rule. A bear hug from a stranger is "creepy," but you object if someone finds a hand shake w/strangers creepy Hence my point—there are many ways to show respect & can be done w/o asking someone to compromise their bodily autonomy

There's more than one way to show respect to others, and each person has a right to personal bodily autonomy. But let me try to better understand your position. If a man greets men by bear-hugging them tightly—you'd be offended if he *didn't* bear-hug you tightly as well?

Yeah, there's always a few seconds of awkwardness when people try to greet each other in different ways. I prefer to err on the side of modesty & individuality. i've learned a smile & genuine dialogue help clarify misunderstandings in such situations.

When greeting women in general, Muslim or not, I prefer to employ the Justin Trudeau approach. Hand on my heart and a respectful nod and smile. Idk if this approach offends people, but I’m honestly more comfortable with it.

Excellent: Swedish Muslim woman wins case where she was fined for not shaking a man’s hand •No man has a “right” to touch a woman against her wishes •Women’s bodily autonomy must be protected •Shameless to punish women b/c they don’t want to be touched

Start your day w/this inspirational clip from newly minted US Congresswoman "My 9-year-old son said, 'Don't worry momma... if they ever ask, I will tell them I'm not Muslim.' I cried. I couldn't stop crying.” Now she’s a member of Congress

Please read this from the THERE ARE NO GIRLS LEFT. "The extremists demolished many of the area’s churches before they left, & almost all of the freed captives, along with their families & neighbors, have since fled, hollowing out the community.

This is simultaneously heartbreaking and incredibly beautiful. Islam defines the highest level of goodness as treating all humanity as if they are your own children & family. This is true love for humanity. A special place in heaven for this soul.

For those who have enough intellectual curiosity and humility to learn about Islam, and not be spoonfed hateful stereotypes, this is the place to grow.

I was a corporate lawyer during Obama's second term & we were absolutely militant to ensure lenders weren't scamming service members—b/c lenders do that. To repeal these regulations is to invite immense fraud & abuse to soldiers & their families. But kneeling offends you huh?🤔

Thanks guys. I think can point us to the origin of the video as it’s on his account and it appears this was a friend of his. I appreciate the police authorities acting to help this Muslim American woman targeted and harassed for her faith.

American bombs just killed 40 Yemeni children. breaks down the atrocity that is America’s war on Yemen: •Silence from the WH •Silence from most media outlets •Silence from “all lives matter” crowd The lack of accountability is appalling
