That is now changing in Arkansas where all would-be teachers will have to demonstrate they know about the science of reading. But we talked to teachers who were never taught these methods.

These parents found they had to get help on their own. They dragged the education community along - and now have the full support of the Arkansas Dept of Ed. But it was a fight. Good luck to you.

That's what was so interesting about Arkansas- when they realized - wait this is helping all kids - not just those with learning disabilities. They want to close that reading gap.
