Q4: Outreach plays a MAJOR role at HIPS. What services do you or your organizations provide? How do you make sure people know about your available services? What tips & tricks have worked best to get the word out to communities in DC?

A3: Sex workers face barriers to services as the result of stigma & discrimination, especially trans women of color. Additionally, with the recent passing of FOSTA, sex workers face greater barriers and exposure to harm and criminalization in D.C.

A2: Ensure that services are accessible and available to people, understand the complex relationships people have with systems especially the criminal justice system & the trauma associated with it

A1: People with complex experiences with the Criminal Justice system aren't always reached in the same way as others. We need to consider everyone's ends including people who have been left behind by systems that should protect them.

Sex work is about bodily autonomy. Sex work is about self-determination. Sex work is about survival. Sex work is consensual. Sex trafficking is coerced. Make sure black women, girls, and gnc people have the space to determine their own experiences.
