Back from Zambia this morning, and the first thing I have done - even before wading through all the Brexit news - is to vote for to be our next Mayor of London!

Good to see - with support - Zambians growing a more diverse set of agricultural produce, which helps improve nutrition - eg fish for Vitamin A and fruit for Vitamin C. Child stunting - 40% of Zambian under-5s - as much about poor diet as shortage of food.

Child stunting in Zambia is a national & international scandal. 40% of under-5s stunted, using 2014 data. Stunting means poorer health & worse life chances. Today we’re visiting Chikando Health Centre with to see how supports better health outcomes.

Am proud that the Government meets its international pledges on spending 0.7% GNI on aid - but it must be spent properly. Lots of work in Zambia is not routed via the Zambian government, by the way.

Great visit to Sisinje with to see the funded Scale Up Nutrition (SUN) programme. 40% of Zambian under-5s are stunted. Hugely damaging: brain not properly forming, fall in school roll & employability & worse. Both urgent & vital work.
