We know the risks associated with tobacco and nicotine. It is easier to prevent our children from becoming addicted in the first place than to treat the addiction later, or even worse, treat the cancers and diseases caused by smoking.

95 percent of smokers start before the age of 21. Today WA joins the growing number of states and 400+ cities that recognize the opportunity to save lives by raising the age for purchasing tobacco and vaping products to 21. The law WILL save lives.

WA is ranked the best place to work partly because we have rules to ensure , accommodations for pregnant workers, sexual harassment protections and laws prohibiting pay secrecy in the workplace. We also have strong unions that raise the bar for all workers.
