ICYMI: has announced review of Farm Household Allowance, which was recently extended so farmers could access a dole-like payment for 4 years. 8000 farmers have taken up FHA at a cost of $230 million, but Dept reckons 19,000 farmer are eligible.

Perhaps more important than ever that a better balance is achieved between city-based roles, functions & salaries... compared to regional ABC budget. Has been some improvement in past two years but more could be done.

Thank you and team. Telling story of drought in NSW, QLD and parts of Victoria is important. Need to build understanding in our cities & governments must work together to provide extra practical drought support to sustain regional families & communities.

Lot of by-election commentary missing fundamental points: incumbents are often hard to beat & local issues matter. Local Members know their local turf & have campaign resources & experience which should be superior to any challengers. Worked in Bennelong & New England too
