Jeff Flake called me late last night after a long 48 hours. We talked about what changed his mind on the Kavanaugh vote, what he hopes to learn from the FBI in the coming week, and what he took away from being confronted by sexual assault survivors.

I know that I, along w several male friends, have been thinking a lot about this question: What can we take from this; what can we do? This is one good answer: listen to women and speak up—to other men.

The latest episode of Crazy/Genius is up! It's about the intelligence of artificial intelligence. AI isn't a simulation of human thought, so much as a simulation of biological evolution.

I cannot believe that this wasn't a moment in the hearings yesterday. Not that I expect Democratic senators to collectively perform the role of Tom Cruise in A Few Good Men, but the July 1 entry is, at least, a very, very curious coincidence.

ok great. let's talk about the alleged victim's explicit wishes. an investigation. sen graham had an opportunity to use his 5 minutes to call for just that, to clear Kav's name beyond all doubt, forever. instead he was whipping votes immediately to prevent any such thing.

i would be furious. i would be apoplectic. i would want to clear my name beyond all doubt. i would want the most thorough investigation possible to clear my name for good, forever, among both my supporters and my detractors.

step back and think about how gross it is to say, of an attempted rape accusation, "if we reward this" "if we reward ... this sexual assault accusation" like an investigation is a REWARD for assault! if you're curious about GOP popularity among millennial women look no further

We're gonna get 10,000 think pieces on Ford's testimony & how women, to be liked, trusted, & safe, have to be nice, compassionate, & helpful. True. But let me just say: we'd be way better off working to hold men to those same standard than working to change them for women.

Mark Judge's book says he worked at a grocery store in the summer of 1982, saving money for football camp that began (Kavanaugh's calendars show) on Aug. 22. Ford saw him at work 6-8 weeks after the alleged incident.

Television is still the most powerful force in our politics and culture, and when we all turn to it, it's still unforgiving and revealing, unmediated.

she's already said she's "terrified" of testifying today. her very presence in this room is an answer to the question "hmm but would you really do things that terrify you?"

so, i'm seeing a lot of Republicans on Twitter threatening to love Kavanaugh more in the face of these accusations but, big picture: less than 50 percent of GOP women say Kavanaugh should be confirmed right now
