You can now easily add StartPage by Ixquick to your list of Iceweasel search engines. Search engines appear in the drop-down menu next to the search bar inside your Iceweasel browser. The settings you saved in 'Settings' will be respected.

Unfortunately your current browser does not support the use of search plugins. The StartPage by Ixquick search plugins work on Internet Explorer 7.0+, on SeaMonkey, on Firefox and on Google Chrome.

You can now easily add StartPage by Ixquick to your list of Internet Explorer 7+ (IE7+) search providers. Search providers appear in the drop-down menu next to the search bar inside your IE7+ browser. The settings you saved in 'Settings' will be respected.

After installing, choose StartPage from the address bar's drop-down menu.
Now you're ready to search: just enter a search term and press Enter!

You can now easily add StartPage by Ixquick to your list of SeaMonkey search engines. Search engines appear in the drop-down menu of sidebar when clicked on "Search" button next to the address bar inside your SeaMonkey browser.

Click "Install" and then click "OK" in the Chrome popup to add StartPage by Ixquick to your list of Google Chrome search engines.

After installation you can set StartPage as your default search engine as follows:

1.	Click the Wrench icon

To add StartPage as a search engine in Edge, follow these steps:

1. Click the three-dot icon in the top right:

2. From the menu that appears, choose Settings.

3. Scroll down, and under Advanced Settings, choose View Advanced Settings.

4. Scroll down, and from the Search In The Address Bar With drop-down, select <Add new>.

5. A list of search engines will appear. Select Startpage.

6. Select Add As Default.

If you'd like to add StartPage as a search engine option, but continue using your current search provider, select Add. StartPage will now appear in your Settings as a selectable search engine provider.

To add StartPage as a search engine in Edge, follow these steps:

1. Click the three-dot icon in the top right:

If StartPage is not successfully added, this may be caused by using the 'New Incognito Window'. Closing the "Incognito Window" and then trying again may solve the problem.

If you decide not to make StartPage your default search engine, you can still search using StartPage from the address bar by entering 'startpage.com', followed by a space, followed by your search term.

Or go to the SeaMonkey Preferences => Category "Navigator" => Internet Search => Change the "default search engine" in the drop down menu to "Ixquick".

CAUTION: You are presently using Firefox 1.5 or older which does not support the more private "POST" search option for this plugin. If this is a concern to you, please consider upgrading to a more recent version of Firefox.

Unfortunately your current browser does not support the use of search plugins.

Currently there is no solution available to add a Plugin for Ixquick to your Camino browser.

1. Go to https://www.ixquick.com.
2. Right-click on the Ixquick search box (the white space to the left of the green magnifying glass).

3. Select "Create search" from the menu.
4. In the "Keyword" field, type 'ix'.
5. Click "Details >>", and check "Use as default search engine".
6. Click "OK", and you can use Ixquick as your preferred search plugin.
7. If Ixquick does not appear as default in the search box, click the triangle arrow in the Opera search box (right-top in your browser) to open the pull-down menu. Select "Ixquick Search Engine".
After installing, choose Ixquick from the search box's drop-down menu. Now you're ready to search: just enter a search term and press Enter!

Safari for Windows has been discontinued by Apple, and so a StartPage browser extension is not available at this time. However, we have a toolbar which offers the same secure, private search features. Please click here to learn more about the Ixquick toolbar.

Currently there is no solution available to add a Plugin for Ixquick to your Camino browser.

There are known problems of Safari 3.2+ crashing when installing 3rd party plugins, like Acid search. Apple has been reported to be working on the problem. At this moment we therefore recommend NOT to donwload any plugins in combination with Safari 3.2+.

You can add Ixquick to the Safari search box via the third party Add-on "Glims". The settings you saved in 'Settings' will be respected.

Instructions:

1. Please download and INSTALL the "Glims" Add-on from: http://www.machangout.com/ and restart Safari

2. Go to Safari -> Preferences and click on the "Glims" icon

3. On the left section, click on "Search Engines"

4. Click the "Add" button at the bottom

5. In the box that pops up,      a) type into the "Name" field: Ixquick      b) in "Query URL" field, replace the https://www.google.com/q=#query# with the          https://www.ixquick.com/do/metasearch.pl?language=english&query=#query#         (make sure the URL contains '&query=#query#')

6. Click the "Add" button and scroll till you find the Ixquick entry and drag it with your mouse to the top (you could also choose to uncheck all the other search engines)

7. Close the Safari -> Preferences and restart Safari. Now Ixquick should be visible in your search box, type a search term and [Enter]

You can now easily add Ixquick to your Safari browser. The Ixquick search engine will then appear in the drop-down menu next to the search bar inside your browser.

Instructions:

1. Click dropdown in the search box of your browser.

2. Select "AcidSearch Preferences.. or Edit Search Channels.." from the dropdown.

3. If it is not present download and install the Acidsearch plugin from http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/15495.

4. After installing AcidSearch plugin and restarting safari repeat steps 1 and 2 and then go to step 5.

5. Click on one of the search channels to make the options active and click on "New Channel" (right bottom options).

6. Enter 'Ixquick' in "Title".

7. In "Prefix URL" enter https://www.startpage.com/do/metasearch.pl?query=$0 if AcidSearch 0.7b3 or newer versions are being used, otherwise use this url https://www.startpage.com/do/metasearch.pl?query=

8. Close the window and select Ixquick in the search box.

After installing, choose Ixquick from the search box's drop-down menu. Now you're ready to search: just enter a search term and press Enter!

Add Ixquick to your Safari Browser

Add Ixquick to your Camino Browser

You can now easily add Ixquick to your Konqueror browser. To add Ixquick as web shortcut to your konqueror browser follow below Instructions.

Instructions:

1. Goto "Settings" in the Konqueror menu of your Browser.

2. Then Select "configure konqueror..".

3. Then choose "Enhanced Browsing or Web Shortcuts" from the sidebar on the left, and you will get a nice long list of shortcut.

4. Click "New" button.

5. Enter 'Ixquick' in Search Provider "Name:"

6. Enter 'https://www.ixquick.com/do/metasearch.pl?query=\{@}' in "Search URI:".

7. Enter your own shortcuts e.g: 'ix,ixq,ixquick' in "URI Shortcuts:".

8. Click OK.

After following these instructions, you're ready to search: just enter "ix: Web Intensive" and press Enter!
