Hi all,
Last night some of us met to discuss creating the "Come to DrupalCon Dublin" video to be shown at DrupalCon New Orleans. We've decided on the various points of interest around Dublin we want to shoot and how we want to approach it.
To simplify the process there won't be anyone in front of the camera talking - we're going to do a voice over later. However, we would like to have photo-bombers - i.e. random people sitting in the background with a Drupal tshirt on, with their laptops open.
Then for the last scene we'll get a group shot of everybody together.
We need volunteers, lots of you! So please, please, please, step up to help out. Time commitment should be minimal but it needs to be done in the next couple of weeks.
Ricardo will be leading this initiative, so if you are interested in helping out, get in touch with him directly or leave a comment here.

Filming next weekend (April 16th and 17th)
Hi all.
Thanks very much for everyone who has shown interest in becoming background actors for the video.
There are various locations in Dublin city identified where we would like to do some filming. Most of them would require daylight, so I am suggesting to start filming on Saturday the 16th of April. Please let us know if that suits you.

Video meeting this Wednesday
Hi all.
We are going to have a meeting about the video this Wednesday. It would be more of a technical type (decide on the exact locations, refine the storyboards, planning the locations for the filming, which camera to use, post-production editing, etc). If you are interested please come along but the main presence will be required when the actual filming takes place during the weekend.
We have identified ten potential locations for filming during the weekend, so we are going to need at least ten actors, but ideally it would be a lot more, specially for the grande finale where the whole community will share the screen.
Once we have decided the final filming locations I will let you all know. You wouldn't need to come to the whole filming session, just for the ones individuals choose, probably one location and then all at the end where we all come together. Once we have the final list of locations we'll create a schedule so people could be able to choose which ones they prefer.
The location for the meeting on Wednesday hasn't been confirmed yet. We will let you know as soon as we know, but it probably will be in the evening (6:30 - 7:00)
In the meantime feel free to come to the meeting on Wednesday and get your t-shirts and hoodies ready for the weekend. Lets hope we get some good weather!

We will be meeting on Wednesday the 13th at Iterate offices. 28 Frederick St. South, D2
This meeting would be to plan the video, the filming itself would be during the weekend.
We will have a schedule ready at the end of the meeting, so people should be able to choose which scene they want to be on. Based of their time availability or location preference.

Schedule for video shooting (Sunday the 17th of April)
Hi all.
The video filming starts this Sunday the 17th of April and will continue the following Saturday the 23rd. With a chance of an occasional filming session during the week.
The schedule for this Sunday (17th of April) is as follows:
09:45 - Convention Center
12:00 - O'Connell Street
13:00 - Ha Penny Bridge
14:30 - Outside of a pub (O' Neills, Kehoes, Groggans)
16:00 - Trinity College
18:00 - Blue River Bristo Bar (Boat pub)
The group filming will be at 6pm at the Boat Pub, which is very close to the Convention Centre. So please, let us know which scene you would like to appear at and let's make sure everybody is available for the final scene filming at 18:00. It has been suggested that for this scene we all wear t-shirts with the very same colour. These could found be cheaply priced in shops like Pennys or Camden Clothing.
Some of the actors have pointed out that the don't own a Drupal t-shirt or similar paraphernalia (such as stickers or hats/caps). So if some of you have one to spare please share for one day!

We are considering changing the group shot time to 14:30 on Sunday as there are a few people who can't make it at 18:00.

11:00 - O'Connell Street

13:30 - Group Shot (Blue River Bristo Bar (Boat pub) or somewhere near the Convention Centre).
15:00 - Convention Center (welcome scene)
17:00 - Outside and inside of a pub, quiet pint scene (O' Neills, Kehoes, Groggans).
I will be contacting individually to all of you who have volunteered in becoming an actor for one day to see your time/location preferences. Please make sure to be at 13:30 at the Convention Centre where we will be filming the end scene with everybody together.
We need more volunteers, lots of us if possible! So please, please, please, if you know of somebody else that might have not seen this post please share!
