FastMail was founded by Rob Mueller and Jeremy Howard in 1999, making it one of the longest operating email services the world over.

FastMail encompasses a portfolio of communication and collaboration services. FastMail is our flagship service, offering the premier hosted email, calendar and contact service to individuals and organisations of all sizes. In 2015, we acquired Pobox and Listbox to expand our offerings in email forwarding and group messaging.

Our staff includes technical leaders on open source projects around the globe. We are the primary developers of the Cyrus mail platform, and the sponsors of the new JMAP sync protocol.

Today we are an employee-owned, independent company. Our headquarters are located in Melbourne, Australia with servers at New York Internet and QuadraNet in the USA, and at Switch Datacenters in the Netherlands.
