Ramaiya Vastavaiya
Ram (Girish Kumar Taurani) has come to India with his mum to see his cousin Riya (Anchal Singh) there he meets her best friend Sona (Shruti Haasan) .They fall in love but its difficult for them seeing as Ram comes from a modern city of Australia, and that Sona comes from a traditional village in India. There is also some tension between Sona's brother Raghuveer (Sonu Sood) and Ashwanni (Poonam Dhillon), Ram's mother. Sona has no parents. Raghuveer tells Ram that he'll only allow him to get close to Sona if he can grow more crops than him this season. Ram's mother and father agree to this proposal and so does Ram. Ashwinni's brother and friend trying to ruin Ram's crops the whole way as they want Ram to marry his mom's brother's business partner's daughter, Dolly. Ram goes through a lot of hardships and adapting to prove himself worthy of Sona's affections and in that the both of them grow closer.-

Phata Poster Nikhla Hero
Vishwas Rao (Shahid Kapoor) is raised by his mother (Padmini Kolhapure), who hopes that her son will grow up to be a brave Inspector.But vishwas , wants to become a film hero. After helping out social worker Kajal (Ileana D'Cruz) whilst dressed as a Police Inspector for a photo shoot, she mistakes him to be an Inspector, and he plays along. After traveling to Mumbai to pursue his acting career, he is mistakenly published in the newspaper as an Inspector, which his mother sees. She arrives in Mumbai to see her dream come true, and circumstances lead Vishwas to carry on his lie not only to Kajal, but also to his mother.-
