One summer day in 2008, I watched a trailer for the movie Gypsy 83. All of a sudden, when I saw that 83, I was thinking it was a sign because I was born in '83. The movie was on my mind for a couple of days until I finally rented it. The movie blew and warped my mind in more ways than one-- to the point where I purchased a DVD copy, the soundtrack, and bottles of absinthe within weeks. There were several elements in the movie that really reflected my life. The day after (and still to this day in 2013 with over 102,000 views :-) ), I could not stop singing and humming "Still Water (Love)" and "Still Water (Peace)" by The Four Tops while thinking about Gypsy 83 and/or the people involved. I also began to have a liking of absinthe because of the film. So I made a little "crossover tribute" to this wonderful movie and this wonderful song.
Also, because of Gypsy 83, I think my life revolves around the number 83. There are so many things I can connect 83 to, such as the year my favorite game show premiered.
Peace. Love. Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder.
Dedicated in tribute and memory to Levi Stubbs, lead singer for The Four Tops, who made "Still Water (Peace and Love)" always make my heart grow fonder.
