    This is laughable. The whole UK tax burden has increased since 2010 and is at its highest level since1985. Factor in the lowest wage growth & production levels for over a century as well, British workers are suffering poverty in their millions.

    One thing that is very clear from canvassing in Chichester East is that this supposedly wealthy city has areas of deep deprivation and, as a consequence, many people who are totally disengaged from the democratic process. This city needs a Labour voice. Vote Labour tomorrow.

    This is one more reason why we need a Labour voice in Chi. West Sussex Tories were only too happy to embrace austerity eight years ago. Senior members were talking about the exciting challenge of implementing cuts just two years ago. They are part of the problem not victims.

    While much of the controversy is overshadowed by the imagery the Chief Executive chose to express it, the fact remains West County Council's services are in crisis because the Tory Government has starved the council of money. That's got to change.
