    This makes me think, though: How much time to some Ts spend making their in-class Powerpoint slideshows look just right? (and then have to present it 3 or 4 or 5 times a day)

    Kids often ask me how much time I've spent making videos. I usually figure that a 10 minute video takes me about an hour to record, edit, and post (and I have over 100 videos). It takes a lot of time and effort.

    That does seem to be a major barrier, . I like 's analogy: "Just like starting a new workout routine or starting a new project of any reasonable size, the first steps are not very challenging once we get past the fear of starting."

    What I think initially steers Ts away from has little to do with its level of difficulty. I see more apprehension about change itself, especially change that they see as unconventional. The irony - Ss don't see learning from a vid as unconventional.

    Truth, ! As wrote, "The instructions that may go with some of those worksheets, lab reports, or activities are easy enough to record with your cell phone."

    The hardest part of flipping my classroom was just convincing myself to get started. I already had all the notes...all I needed to do was record. No need to reinvent the wheel

    "You likely already have the worksheets, lab reports, guided notes, or graphic organizers you already use, and those are easy enough to put in some sort of digital format where students can access them 24/7." Not actually true for me, b/c I flipped new curriculum

    "If your best thing is group activity and interactive collaboration, then that almost certainly must be done in the classroom." That resonates with this SocSt teacher because discussion skills & civic engagement are at the core of my job.
