    a rather bad idea. Luckily for this high school student, injecting himself with religious text-based peptides "only caused at the injection site a minor inflammation which persisted a few day[s]". I suspect the effects of publishing this report will last longer.

    OK, 2018 can't end soon enough. Some French high school student translated a part of the Bible and Koran into protein sequence, made an rAAV vector and a cyclic peptide, injected them into either thigh, and then published the following preprint:

    great point. Teachers everywhere, please ask us for PDFs of our papers! You already paid for the reseach through your taxes - don't spend another $40 on a for-profit journal just to get the PDF. We can send it to you directly, for free.

    Teachers! Parents! It is legal and perfectly welcome to email scientists asking for a PDF of their paper. Until all papers are free, please RT to make this more widely known. And fyi, scientists don't get the $$ from sales of papers so all it costs us is 1 minute of time!
