Theresa May just said higher spending on the NHS would be funded by "the Brexit dividend" - it does not exist. The OBR has forecast Brexit will *cost* the UK £300m a week.

Thread on Theresa May’s NHS announcement - in short, don’t buy shoddy rhetoric about a “Brexit dividend”. The reality is the Tories still aren’t giving the NHS the funding it so desperately needs

Remembering Jo Cox today. Parliament, Labour, her friends and her family: we are all so much poorer without Jo being here. But her legacy lives on and she will always remain an inspiration

Damning verdict on Universal Credit by National Audit Office. Accords with my own constituency experience of Tory changes to Benefits system: inflexible, insensitive to impact on vulnerable people and increasing the numbers forced to turn to foodbanks

I welcome the Government's acceptance of family reunion for child refugees post-Brexit. This has always been a cross-Party effort, with particular support from to name a few

Yes I backed the amendment to give Parliamento a meaningful vote on final Brexit deal. Govt narrowly avoided defeat by a partial climb down . Let’s see what happens in coming days. We haven’t heard the last of this issue

Heart breaking news this morning that former Lord Mayoress and local conservative activist Sandra Brew has passed away. Truly sorry for Randal and his family. X
