    Theresa May just said higher spending on the NHS would be funded by "the Brexit dividend" - it does not exist. The OBR has forecast Brexit will *cost* the UK £300m a week.

    Thread on Theresa May’s NHS announcement - in short, don’t buy shoddy rhetoric about a “Brexit dividend”. The reality is the Tories still aren’t giving the NHS the funding it so desperately needs

    Any extra money for the NHS will be welcomed by staff whose dedication and hard work have seen it through the toughest of times. But what May is promising isn’t enough and isn’t the long-term funding package health workers will have been hoping for

    Thank you for going with with what you felt was right, Richard, rather than voting with what you were told to do. Whatever our position may be, I am grateful for an MP who weighs up the options and does that.

    Really regrettably, I will be missing the votes on tonight, as I was admitted to hospital last night. My office will of course remain open and you can email me on [email protected] as usual. I hope to be on the mend and back in Parliament next week.

    Yes I backed the amendment to give Parliamento a meaningful vote on final Brexit deal. Govt narrowly avoided defeat by a partial climb down . Let’s see what happens in coming days. We haven’t heard the last of this issue
