    I have RAed for women as an undergrad, at the Boston Fed, and during PhD. I have plenty of male mentors, but have never been employed by one. I am an economist because women taught me this craft. It is disgraceful and depressing that some men can’t/won’t do this for female RAs.

    This document is ready to go for sole-author use, but you also need to make sure your coauthors are using XITS Math. In Word > Preferences > Save, enable "Embed Fonts in the File." Do not enable the option to only include used characters. 19/

    There are not a ton of Word math fonts, but there is a free font called XITS Math that is designed to set equations that look like mathy Times New Roman. Install it. 17/

    Microsoft’s equation editor requires a special math font. There aren’t others installed by default, but the default — Cambria Math — is ugly, and next to TNR looks out of place. 16/
