ScrewTurn Wiki is a lightweight Wiki engine, written in C# and based on the ASP.NET 3.5 platform.
It stores data on plain-text files, so no database is needed. Its content caching systems helps improving performances and page rendering time.
It is focused mainly of the ease of use and deployment. It is configurable at runtime through a clear administration interface. Theming is available using CSS.
A Desktop Edition is available: it runs on any version of Windows (NT series), without the need of IIS.
Since version 2.0, ScrewTurn Wiki can be extended using Plugins (Providers), which are manageable at runtime using the dedicated administration interface.
With Plugins you can extend the functionalities of the Engine. You can for example use SQL Server or MySQL to store the data, or even manage wiki content in multiple languages.
Commercial licenses are also available for purchase, allowing to modify and integrate the wiki engine without being bound to the GPLv2.
