Much more than just an application wiki, Clearspace makes collaborating across teams, departments, even with customers easy, fast and a powerful way to refine ideas and remain productive. Clearspace is a single application that unifies lots of content types like wiki-documents, blog, discussions, instant messaging, rss, email integration, files (and a lot more) into spaces organized by topic vs being just another, bolted-on point solution. Even more, Clearspace provides easy workflow, file management and heavy-duty enterprise J2EE software with clustering, permissions, moderation, and is completely developer-source so you own full access to the code to easily integrate it into your current environment. Find out why Clearspace has quickly made Jive Software “the most important tech company you’ve never heard of.â€

These screenshots should give you a first impression how Clearspace looks like. Remember: The look of many Wikis can be changed by stylesheets or templates so these are only examples.

The collaborative authoring features of Clearspace add a level of sophistication beyond what you see in your standard wiki applications. With all the fundamental features of a classic Wiki: wysiwig editing, embeddable content, version history, and document storage users gain benefit from the addition features a collaboration platform brings. For example, rules are as unstructured or structured as you need. Unlike the way most wikis work, Clearspace lets you create documents that you can only see, documents that are open for anyone, or documents that you can invite other people into. Just add whomever you'd like to be a co-author or approver. They will get notified via email that they've been invited, and can jump in to help. If they are not part of the Clearspace community you can output the content as a PDF or send it directly as an email. Also, with Clearspace version control doesn't have to be a pain. Clearspace provides the necessary security and compliance levels of version control but adds really user-friendly and powerful features like, side-by-side comparisons that highlight what's been changed. It's simple to restore an older version too, so people don't need to be worried about making mistakes.

Dynamically-created profiles, personal tag clouds and user-status makes it easy to find exactly the right person to help. Clearspace brings together people who might not have have normally connected. Also, an intuitive social directory makes it easy to find people several different ways. Find people who are online now, are rated the highest, newest members or just use it as a simple name register.

Clearspace blogging allows for team and individual blogs. Features include a rich text editor, wiki markup, a preview pane, embeddable video and images, admin control on who can post where, timed publishing of your blog, post using blog authoring tools compatible with the MetaWeblog API, the Movable Type API and portions of the Blogger API, or attach files.
Users can subscribe to blogs through a number of ways. They can receive email notifications when the author has updated content, through rss notification, and specifying content that appears in the whats new section of the homepage.

Within Clearspace you can group content by topics instead of by applications. Users care about topics and don't want to travel through tons of applications to find answers. Clearspace turns this "upside-right" by keeping all those content types focused on the subject at-hand, be it a project, department or team. In doing so the platform creates virtual "spaces" in which groups can come together to work any of the different collaborative content that Clearspace provides.
