Last year, Asus released its ZenPad S 8.0. (We didn’t dig it.) Now, Asus is pairing up with Verizon to release its ZenPad Z8. The new device keeps with Asus’ low prices — it’ll retail for $249.99. The ZenPad S 8.0 was priced at $229. Oh, and the new ZenPad has USB-C! Here are the other details:
- 7.9-inch display with 2048x1536 display
- Snapdragon 650 hexa-core 64-bit processor
- 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage
- Up to 128GB of expandable storage
- 8-megapixel rear-facing camera
- 2-megapixel front-facing camera
- Android Marshmallow
The ZenPad Z8 tablet is now available for preorder and will be stocked in Verizon stores starting June 23rd. Even with the higher price, this tablet isn't much of an upgrade from the S 8.0. That tablet had a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and just as much storage with the opportunity to purchase a version with 64GB. All that differentiates the ZenPad Z8 is its new processor.
