Yes. The Wii U console can play all Wii games. In addition, Wii Shop Channel is available on Wii U, so you can purchase digital Wii games and download them to your Wii U. The system does not support Wii titles or accessories that require the use of the Nintendo GameCube controller ports.

Yes. On the system where you made the initial purchase, you can re-download a deleted game (as long as it's still available in the eShop) by going to your profile in the Nintendo eShop Menu and selecting My Downloads.
Yes. Wii Remote controllers are compatible with the Wii U console, but many Wii U games require a Wii Remote + Wii MotionPlus accessory or Wii Remote Plus controller. Please check game requirements to understand whether a Wii Remote Plus controller is required. Regular Wii Remote controllers can also be upgraded with a Wii MotionPlus accessory, available here.
Yes. If the game or application supports off-TV play, you will be able to use the GamePad to play the game or application while also watching TV. Check the game or application manual for more information.
