Online video provider Vimeo is already seeing benefits from its recent acquisition of VHX, as the white-label solutions vendor announced that Vimeo partners can now offer seamless subscription to their branded apps on Apple iOS, Apple TV and Roku devices.

BOSTON-- File-sharing service BitTorrent is continuing to shift away from the established perception of the company as a piracy facilitator, announcing the impending launch of BitTorrent Live, a linear streaming video platform that will feature numerous live events through several participating networks. More interesting is that those live events will be delivered to viewers with a less than 10-second lag between the broadcast signal and the over-the-top stream, the company said.
Reference Design Kit (RDK) is using INTX 2016 in Boston to tout some growth numbers within the global pay-TV market, announcing that more than 15 million devices are now running RDK, a software stack for IP set-tops, gateways and other devices.
Research firm IHS Technology predicts the service provider SDN market, including hardware, software and services, will grow from $289 million in 2015 to $8.7 billion in 2020, with a 2015–2020 compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 98 percent.
Speaking to investors during the Jefferies Communications Conference, Scott Mair, senior vice president of technology planning and engineering for AT&T, said that the service provider is on track to hit a major milestone by the end of the year.
