Europe
The promotion of the European model is crucial if we want European values to have an impact in a rapidly changing world.
Since its foundation in 1976, the European People’s Party (EPP) has advocated in favour of a strong, transparent and efficient Europe at the service of its citizens. The 2014 European Elections marked the fourth victory for the EPP and reaffirmed the party as the leading political force in Europe. Every day the renewed trust of the European citizens is the driving inspiration for the EPP’s activities. Being the largest political party entails the great responsibility to deliver on all those issues which matter the most to our citizens: jobs and economic stability, competitiveness, security, and prosperity.
We are committed to working with our member parties and associations, our heads of state and government, our ministers in the EPP Ministerial Meetings, President Tusk, President Juncker and the EPP Commissioners, and our Group in the European Parliament to achieve these objectives and to promote our values, which we derive from our Christian Democrat tradition: the dignity of the human being, freedom, responsibility, equality, truth, justice, solidarity and subsidiarity.
We are aware of the importance of being united as well as the privilege of our differences, and of the importance of reaching our citizens and being more accessible in an increasingly interconnected reality. This platform, the new EPP website, has evolved to be more open to the user and aims to make the “European language” our common language.
We wish to offer the openness, dialogue and opportunity for debate which has always distinguished our political family.
President
Secretary General
What we believe and what we will do for Europe.
The promotion of the European model is crucial if we want European values to have an impact in a rapidly changing world.
Migration, illicit arms, drug trade and human trafficking, as well as international terrorism are challenges of the globalised world.
Jobs and economic growth enable our wellbeing. We must invest in competitiveness.
Entrepreneurs create the jobs in Europe. Innovations lead to greater wellbeing and prosperity.
European strength-international/global responsibility. Tackling together international challenges with our global partners and friends.
History proves that Europe and America are better off when we work together.
Driving the digital transformation of Europe to leveraging the benefits and tackling the challenges for an inclusive, secure and sustainable digital society.
We believe in green and sustainable growth uncompromising on EU environment and safety standards.
Putting the EU economy back on the growth track can only be achieved with competitive energy prices and sustainable and secure supplies.
As a global leader, efficiently preserving our planet for future generations.
Supporting our farmers while providing the people with quality food at reasonable prices.
Enhancing stability, preparing for enlargement by improving rule of law, justice systems, fight against corruption and good neighbourly relations.
Working for a more prosperous, stable and democratic Southern neighborhood.
Reviewing the ENP, Re-launching the Eastern Partnership, achieving stability, democracy and prosperity in its Eastern neighbourhood.
We must make sure that Europe has the highest skill level in the world.
We are fully committed to the euro.
We will take care of and help those in need. We must not leave anyone behind.

Caroline Collett12 AND HALF QUESTIONS 1. If being in the EU is so beneficial for us how come after 37 years, we along with 70% of the EU countries, are in austerity measures, where we face NHS meltdown, financial collapse, confused property market, security worsening daily and we have less power to do anything about it without the permission of un-elected leaders in Brussels? Is this the fault of the EU or our past and present government system and which if not all should be done away with, to be replaced with something more nation centred and entrepreneurially dynamic. 2. If open borders and freedom of movement is so good for us, how come all the EU countries are closing theirs and battening down their hatches against the mass immigration of refugees and radical Islamists? 3. If all the taxes paid by immigrants are good for our economy, how come all the extra immigrants, we have taken from the EU has not increased our fiscal income and raised the budgets of the NHS, the police, transport infrastructure, housing and education. In fact these have gone backwards? 4. Does anyone in government know how much money is sent out of this country by immigrant workers to support families living and spending in EU countries. How much of this income is lost to our own businesses and national growth, while it supports businesses and economic growth in poor EU countries? 5. If we have control over our borders how come illegal immigrants and terrorists can land with impunity anywhere along our shores and we don’t even know about it until their boat sinks? 6. Why is it that because we are in the EU we cannot or will not send foreign criminals back to their countries of origin rather than overload our prisons with radicals and continue to pay for their keep? 7. Why are we told that it will take years for Turkey to join the EU, but within a few months they will have the right to travel unhindered throughout Europe? 8. If we import large volumes from the EU why would they try to penalize us by shooting themselves in the foot because we don’t belong to the EU. If we export so much to the EU why would they want to start renegotiating new deals with unknown suppliers? 9. If we are doing so well trading with 28 near broke countries and have achieved such value, why would we not be equally or more successful in a market of 196 countries where many have stable and growing economies? 10. Why would we spend a fortune on electing and paying for a government whose decisions are controlled and restricted by an un-elected, inefficient and expensive bureaucracy in Brussels. 11. Why would we invest £18 billion pounds a year to get a return of £9 billion pounds, at the same time earning dubious right to become an employment charity for millions of unemployed EU migrants and a safe haven for their uncontrolled criminal element? Even the son of stock broker should know this is not a good investment. 12. Why is it that we have forgotten what being British means, or have we become so diluted that we do not know whether we have an EU culture, Sharia culture or a British Culture. 12.5. thYnk -- Think out -- Vote out If you like this article share it, if not thank you for reading it, but please don’t forget to thYnk
