Accessibility
The ACM US Public Policy Council (USACM) identified accessibility as one of its core issues and has provided comments and information to the legislative and executive branches of the US Government toward advancing accessibility standards. USACM has often been joined by the ACM Special Interest Groups on Accessibility and Computer Human Interaction, both concerned with ensuring systems are accessible and usable by a broad range of stakeholders.
In redesigning the ACM Web site, one of our foremost goals has been a site that is accessible by everyone. We are partnering with accessibility professionals who will perform accessibility audits and comprehensive regression testing, and help us develop a roadmap for on-going implementation of "best practices" to meet the needs of our diverse community. We plan to solicit feedback on accessibility by reaching out to the public, and welcome your participation. Please email us to express your interest: [email protected].
