Temple’s rankings growth is fueled by high graduation rates, accomplished graduate degree programs, new living and learning facilities and groundbreaking work in science education and research.
In the latest Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education, Temple rose to “highest research activity,” or R1, placing it among the top four percent of all four-year institutions in the nation.
This milestone follows Temple's ascent in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges rankings (2016), in which the university surged six places to No. 115. Several graduate programs also have climbed the U.S. News ranks, including:
- The Fox School of Business maintained its position as one of the premier business schools, retaining its ranking as No. 41 in the U.S.
- The Beasley School of Law advanced to No. 50 in the nation, following a year in which it propelled nine spots to the No. 52 position.
- The College of Education rose from No. 56 to No. 55, one year after it climbed seven spots.
- The Lewis Katz School of Medicine improved from No. 55 to No. 54 for research.
- Tyler’s glass program ranked No. 2 in the country.
From breakthrough research that’s a step closer to a cure for AIDS to bold and innovative ways to increase college access and reduce student debt, Temple is raising its national profile to new heights.
