Humph. Looks like my comments telling the user to vote to close instead answer were flagged as being rude or not constructive and were deleted.

@AndrewLi No, I custom voted to have them all deleted.

@SotiriosDelimanolis OK, seems like that might have been a good idea.
Thanks

@ArtOfCode Hello! Can you auto add to questions with -?
search query: tagged/jquery+-javascript

@LearnHowToBeTransparent um, why?

@dorukayhan hard to search if tagged with jquery only

also, mass editing can be dangerous. it bumps a whole bunch of questions to the front page of everyone, thus potentially pushing good questions off
@AshishAhuja hell-o/

o/
I agree with @dorukayhan here. You don't need to add to all the questions

@LearnHowToBeTransparent You need to plugin you Mac.

I have a survey thingy. I just edited an answer of mine - a pretty major edit. I was wondering if the spoilers are appropriate in this situation. What do you think and what should I do instead?

@AndrewLi it is needed.

@LearnHowToBeTransparent I'm not totally sure :/.
That edit took an hour cause markdown is stupid

you should hide text in snippet, not spoilers
but i agree that you must hide text
spoilers: preserve space, looks like a mess

3:55 AM
@LearnHowToBeTransparent Yeah - it's just a huge yellow block
I won't do it in snippets - that's for code...

comment it so it won't be syntax-highlighted
remember the old code for emphasis trick?

I spend lots of time on old posts lol

4:08 AM
@AndrewLi I don't get it. Why's there a spoiler at all?

@QPaysTaxes It's a long explanation. Should I get rid of it?

Yes
There's no reason for it.
Spoiler blocks are to hide things that people shouldn't be accidentally exposed to, like, I dunno, spoilers.

Ok

Did you quote that explanation from somewhere else?

Nope
Woops

4:12 AM
So why's part of your answer quoted?

@QPaysTaxes Edited

What was the point of the spoiler in the first place?

I just thought it was a long explanation.

...How would a spoiler help that?

@QPaysTaxes 'Twas looking for a solution similar to hideable snippets

4:14 AM
Why, though?
A long explanation isn't a problem.

Ok
@QPaysTaxes For the certain situation do you think it's a problem?

Nope

Ok, thanks!

Q: Should we burninate [flat]?

Sami KuhmonenThere is a tag flat with 170 questions that seems to fall flat of what it's supposed to be: A flat style means a leveled, even, bi-dimensional style of UI components. The UI will result in something which doesn't have a 3D look (i.e. without glosses or reflections and without shadows). Sti...

I am earning 20 rep for my sockpuppet account by editing [jquery] -[javascript] questions to include the [javascript] tag.

@LearnHowToBeTransparent sockpuppet eh?

@ColdFire read the profile of it. ok, focus on the edit. should we auto edit now?

are you sure you meant that

@ColdFire mean what?

never mind

ok, should we auto edit now?
when people are searching [javascript], usually they want some [jquery] questions too.

it is close-vote-or-i-will-stab-you
just for fun, nothing else.

@LearnHowToBeTransparent Ah. Yeah I'd prefer you don't do that then

i know. hard for machines to parse

Oh that's not it, very easy to parse. But people vote on cv-pls if they want to vote, nothing is forcing them to

@LearnHowToBeTransparent I wouldn't automate that no
While they can "forget" the javascript, I'm not sure adding it blindly to every question is a good move
A lot of them can be strictly jQuery specific
and nothing to do with JavaScript.

12:45 PM
@LearnHowToBeTransparent if you're only doing tag edits without fixing the rest of the post, like removing noise, I don't think those edits should continue.

12:58 PM
When Rene presents something as his opinion rather than as fact ... I guess it really doesn't matter.

i think i need to ask the js room

but yes, automated edits of any kind are a Bad Idea^tm

It is always fun to see if anything comes up when you search for the title

the homework you cv

Why are you asking?

2:03 PM
@LearnHowToBeTransparent: no, not with just the information posted since for me there are too many holes -- including what GUI library (Swing? AWT? JavaFx? Other?); how the user is entering commands (console? a text area? other?)...
